Project: Waterfowl Habitat Enhancement

| Challenge: Stabilize highly-erodible soils on a waterfowl impoundment dike oriented to receive sustained wave energy from prevailing winds. |

| Solution: Immediate erosion protection was provided by the vegetation / coir matting matrix. Mature plants quickly established armoring the dike against prolonged and sustained prevailing wind wave energy. Immediate soil stability protected water quality that fostered the development of other important submerged aquatic waterfowl forage plants. |
