Project: Teton River Bank Stabilization
| Challenge: The stage of the Teton River is greatly increased by submerged aquatic vegetation during the summer months. This leaves a very small window to establish wetland vegetation on restored streambanks. |
| Solution: Wetland Sod was chosen because of its ability to tolerate the fluctuating hydrologic conditions found along the Teton River. Wetland Sod was planted in mid-July, just after high flows had receded and just prior to the stage increasing due to aquatic vegetation growth. Wetland Sod mats had 2-3 weeks to establish prior to being partially submerged. |
